Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
- A 43-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Thursday on the 100 block of East 5th Street on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs for sale, narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.
Officers approached a parked truck after someone told them the driver was acting suspiciously, police reported.
The man had been yelling outside a fire station and had parked outside the police station, according to the report.
An officer asked the man if he had any guns, and the man said he had one in his backpack, police reported.
After the officer took the gun out of the backpack, he noticed a bag containing methamphetamine, according to the report.
Police found two ounces of methamphetamine, 80 Oxycontin pills and a scale inside the vehicle, police reported.
The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
- A 35-year-old man was arrested Friday at Maple Avenue and Alameda Drive on suspicion of two outstanding warrants and narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
An officer pulled over a vehicle and asked the man and the driver to exit, police reported.
After the man identified himself, the officer realized he had two warrants for his arrest, according to the report.
The officer searched the man and found a bag with methamphetamine and a bag with five oxymorphone pills in his left back pocket, police reported.
Police found four glass pipes containing methamphetamine residue, a scale and empty bags inside the vehicle, according to the report.
The man said he was going to give the oxymorphone to a friend who was experiencing pain, police reported.
The man also told the officer he smoked methamphetamine regularly and had smoked the day before, according to the report.
The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending drug charges and held on the outstanding warrants charges, police reported.
