What: Traces of Japanese Life: Selections from the Melikian Collection

The collection — on loan from the Melikian Collection — features landscapes, pottery designs, the construction of Samurai weapons and other Japanese elements. Students from Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts translated passages of hand-written or printed scripts to identify who drew or wrote the works to discover why the elements were created.

What: Phoenix Early Music Society presents Sense and Sensuality of the Italian Trecento with The Broken Consort

The Broken Consort perform the music of Francesco Landini, Lorenzo da Firenze and Jacopo da Bologna to express the musical language of 14th century Italy, the era of Dante and Petrarch.

What: Flutist Magda Schwerzmann with faculty flutist Elizabeth Buck

Guest flutist Magda Schwerzmann will perform with faculty artist Elizabeth Buck in a concert featuring music by Swiss composers. The concert will celebrate cross-cultural connections of friendship through music and art.
