Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 26-year-old Tempe woman was arrested Aug. 27 on the 1800 block of East Baseline Road on suspicion of shoplifting and dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
The woman was initially held in Target’s loss prevention office after a worker saw her put cosmetics inside her purse, according to police.
When police arrived, the woman told officers she had concealed one bottle of lotion and five bottles of nail polish, because she wanted the items, police reported.
Police later found an additional two shirts, two coloring books and bottle of nail polish in her purse, according to the report.
Officers also found two cut straws and two bags containing methamphetamine in her wallet, police reported.
The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and released pending charges, police reported.
- A Tempe man was arrested Aug. 25 at West Southern Avenue and South Priest Drive on suspicion of marijuana possession and use, having liquor while younger than 21 and driving under the influence, according to a police report.
Officers approached the man after seeing him without his headlights on, police reported.
When officers approached the car, they observed marijuana on the passenger-side dashboard, according to the report.
Officers asked the man to leave the car, and he obliged, police reported. Upon searching, officers found a gallon bag one-fifth full of marijuana in a backpack in the backseat of the car, according to the report.
The man said the marijuana was a friend’s, but that he had been smoking marijuana since he was 11, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
