Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 52-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sept. 23 on the 700 block of East Fordham Drive on suspicion of marijuana production, possession and possession for sale, narcotic drug possession and manufacturing and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
Officers were passing by the driveway of the man’s home when a Ford F250 lunged forward with squealing tires, apparently trying to ram the patrol car, according to police.
As other officers arrived for backup, they found the man’s truck empty and heard screaming coming from inside the house, the report said.
A short time later, the man came out of a garage access door wearing only underwear and a T-shirt, police said.
Police reported he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was “rambling” and not making much sense when they contacted him.
Officers reported that they were concerned if there was someone else still inside the house who needed help, so they went inside the home to do a welfare check.
Officers reported finding marijuana, hash and marijuana plants growing inside.
A search warrant was obtained, and police found more than 25 marijuana plants, marijuana cultivation chemicals and equipment, Hashish and Hashish manufacturing equipment and drug paraphernalia, the report said.
He was taken to Tempe City Jail and released pending charges, the report said.
- A 19-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested Sept. 25 on the 120 block of West Sixth Street on suspicion of minor in consumption and narcotic, dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
Officers were notified of a possible sick or injured person passed out in the driver’s seat of a car and possibly not breathing, the report said.
When officers contacted the man, he woke up and identified himself, according to police.
Officers reported his demeanor was very lethargic and that he was nearly falling asleep while talking to them.
An alcohol breath test came back negative, but officers reported seeing fresh track marks on his arm.
The man denied being on any drugs, but he did say he had relapsed a few days before and that his drug of choice was heroin, the report said.
While talking with the man, officers noticed a bottle of vodka in the car, according to the report. The man said it wasn’t his but that he knew it was there, police reported.
Officers took an inventory of his car before impounding, and found a backpack with two syringes, a black shoelace, aluminum foil, a sandwich bag with several cotton balls and two spoons with burnt residue on them, according to the report.
The report said they also found a black balloon with what appeared to be heroin, some marijuana and prescription drugs.
He was taken to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
