Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 20-year-old Mesa man was arrested Oct. 11 at East Lemon Street and South Terrace Road on suspicion of marijuana possession, minor in possession of alcohol and underage drinking, according to a police report.
The man crossed the road against the signal when police attempted to talk to him, police reported.
Police said the man thought for a moment before running away from officers.
The man ran into a small market in the area, where officers saw him place a receipt wrapped around marijuana on a shelf, according to the report.
When police stopped the man they also found that the man appeared intoxicated, and he had a can of beer in a brown paper bag in his hand, police said.
He repeatedly told officers he would “beat their ass,” according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, police reported.
- A 24-year-old Mesa man was arrested Oct. 14 at South Price Road and East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of dangerous drug possession for sale, drug paraphernalia possession and an outstanding warrant, according to a police report.
Police were called about a fight between a man and a woman, but when they arrived, the woman said the man had fled on a BMX bike, police reported.
Police said they began looking for the man and found him.
The man began changing directions, making it difficult for officers to stop him, according to the report.
Police began pursuing the man on foot and, when they located him, they pointed a Taser at the man, police reported.
The man was wearing two pairs of pants, and they located a pipe used to smoke meth and a baggie of meth in his outer pair of pants’ pocket, police said.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked pending release.
