With Halloween just a few weeks away, I headed over to the Dollar Tree to see what I could pick up for one of my favorite holidays.
True, I am a poor college student, but I was willing to spend some money to decorate. All in all, I ended up spending a little over $4 for all the decorations in my room.
I started out with the ever-classic spiderwebs. The ones I picked up came with spiders as an added bonus! Draping them all over my window, I created an easy, eerie haunted effect for just over $1. The packaging also had spiders and spiderwebs crawling all over it so I decided to tape that to my window as well.
Wanting to add a little something extra to the scene, I chose the “Blood Splatter” wall decals as well. Pasting them to the glass, the story began to unfold even more.
I also purchased a super cute pumpkin to hang above my bed. Since that’s more of a fall and not a solely-Halloween item, I’m going to keep that up there until after Thanksgiving break.
My next victim was my door. The $1 caution tape bundle actually packed in a solid 30 feet of the stuff, so I was able to completely wrap my door.
Out in the hallway, I noticed a lot of my other hall-mates had started to get in the spirit of Halloween too. Below, I featured some of my favorite doors on my floor, so take a look!
Stay tuned next week for a variety of cheap, Halloween crafts to complete your haunted dorm room. From bats, pumpkins, candy corn and tombstones, next week’s DIY will be jam-packed with ideas to make this Halloween horrific.
