No. 20 UCLA vs. Colorado: UCLA W 45-23
The Bruins had a tough go of things in the past two weeks, falling to then-No.13 Stanford 24-10 and No. 3 Oregon 42-14 in back-to-back weeks. Luckily, this weekend, UCLA had time to recover playing a Colorado team that came in at 3-4 and 0-4 in the Pac-12. The Bruins’ redshirt sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley lit the Buffaloes up both on the ground and through the air, passing for 273 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards and another two touchdowns.
Oregon State vs. USC: USC W 31-14
USC seriously hates Corvallis, Ore., and hasn’t won there since 2004. But the Trojans finally got a win at Reser Stadium, knocking off the Beavers 31-14. Much of the reason for the USC win was redshirt sophomore running back Javorius Allen, who rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns. OSU junior quarterback Sean Mannion, the nation’s leading passer coming into the game, struggled against the Trojans’ secondary. Mannion threw for 277 yards and a touchdown but also threw three interceptions. Mannion’s lone touchdown was to junior wideout Brandin Cooks who finished with 88 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Arizona vs. Cal: Arizona W 33-28
The Bears came into their game with the Wildcats looking for their first Pac-12 win of the season. They still wouldn’t get it, but they certainly gave the Wildcats a run for their money. Cal freshman quarterback Jared Goff threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns but also tossed a pair of interceptions. A big reason for the Bears’ loss was because they couldn’t contain UA senior quarterback B.J. Denker, who threw for 261 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 44 yards and three more scores. UA junior running back Ka’Deem Carey remained the workhorse of the Wildcats’ offense carrying the ball 32 times for 152 yards.
