Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:
- A 35-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Jan. 12 at the 10 block of West Fifteenth Street on suspicion of urinating in public and having outstanding warrants, according to a police report.Police contacted the man after they saw him urinating into some bushes in a parking lot, police said.
Officers checked for wants and warrants after contacting the man and discovered he had outstanding warrants with the Scottsdale City Court and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report.
The man was taken to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police said.
- A 27-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 9 at the 1700 block of East Southern Avenue on suspicion of forgery, according to a police report.Police received a report of suspected forgery from the pharmacy and showed up to confront the man, police said.
The man said he was trying to fill a Xanax prescription that his doctor gave him, according to the report.
The pharmacist told officers that several areas of the prescription were clearly forged, because they contained mistakes no doctor would make, police said.
The man continued to insist that the prescription was valid, according to the report.
He was placed under arrest and was interviewed again by officers, police said.
He admitted during the second interview that the prescription was forged, even though he had a valid prescription for Xanax from his doctor, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked, police said.
