Tempe Police: Man drives drunk on suspended license

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 28-year old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 12 at the intersection of Lemon Street and Rural Road on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to a police report.

Police contacted the man during a traffic stop for multiple civil traffic violations, the report said.

He was driving while impaired with a Wisconsin license that had been revoked in April 2013 for a DUI, according to the report.

Police transported the man to a DUI van, where a breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of .092 percent, police said.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, the report said.

 

A 34-year-old Mesa man was arrested Jan. 10 on the 1800 block of Scottsdale Road on suspicion of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, according to a police report.

Police contacted the man after police officers located an occupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Quality Suites located at the 1600 block of North Scottsdale Road, police said.

Officers established surveillance of the parking lot and witnessed the man and a woman enter the stolen vehicle after loitering in the parking lot for some time, according to the report.

The man and woman sat in the vehicle and appeared to be searching for police, police said.

Police observed the man and woman then exit the vehicle and followed them to the 1800 block of Scottsdale Road, where they were taken into custody, the report said.

The man and woman were questioned while police confirmed that the vehicle was stolen, police said.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held, according to the report.
