Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:
A 66-year-old Tempe man was arrested Aug. 23 on the 500 block of West University Drive on suspicion of being in the possession of meth, according to a police report.
The man was riding his bicycle and was stopped by police for not having a bicycle light, police reported.
Police found a small Altoid breath mint container containing a small clear ziplock bag, which contained a white crystal-like substance appearing to be a usable amount of methamphetamine, according to the report.
The man said he found the Altoid container containing the methamphetamine on a dumpster at an apartment complex somewhere between Ash and Mill avenues, police reported.
He also said he had not used drugs in eight years, was not planning on using drugs and did not know there were drugs were in the bag, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending on the charges, according to the report.
An 18-year-old Tempe man was arrested Aug. 23 on Rural Road on suspicion of marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.
The man was originally contacted the driver during a vehicle stop, police reported.
The man told officers there was marijuana in the vehicle inside the driver door panel, police reported. The man said the drugs belonged to him and he did not have a medical marijuana card, according to the report.
Officers found an orange bag in the driver door panel that contained a three inch black and orange glass pipe, rice wraps and a lighter, police reported. Officers found another bag that had marijuana in it, according to the report.
After further searching, officers found a glass mason jar with a green leafy residue was found under the seat, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
