Tennis dual canceled due to bad weather
Looming bad weather in Berkeley, Calif., prompted a rescheduling of the ASU women’s tennis dual against California.
The dual was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday but has been moved to Feb. 22.
Forecasts by the National Weather Service predict showers and thunderstorms Friday night in the Berkeley area, with winds up to 20 mph.
Because ASU and Cal are also scheduled to play on March 27, the first dual on Feb. 22 will not count toward Pac-10 standings.
No. 3 California (4-0) is the top-ranked team in the Pac-10, followed by No. 8 Southern California (4-0), No. 12 UCLA (4-0), No. 14 Stanford (2-0) and No. 26 ASU (3-1).
Cal also boasts the top ranked player in the Pac-10 with No. 2 sophomore Jana Juricova.
The Sun Devils climbed three spots after defeating No. 24 Alabama last weekend..
The next dual for ASU will take place on Feb. 20 vs. Saint Mary’s.
