ASU’s reign as the highest-ranked Pac-10 Conference team is over.

Just one week after becoming the first team in school history to lead the Pac-10 in the Associated Press top-25 rankings, the Sun Devils fell 10 spots.

No. 24 ASU (16-5, 5-4 Pac-10) barely kept its spot in the polls, after it lost back-to-back bouts to Washington State and No. 22 Washington.

Using stellar guard play, WSU and UW handed the Sun Devils their first home losses of the season.

No. 17 UCLA is back to being the conference’s highest-ranked team in the top 25 after sweeping Cal and Stanford in the Bay Area.

With the losses, ASU is now tied with Cal — which has lost four out of its last five — for fourth place in the conference standings.

USC is third at 6-3, while UCLA and UW are tied for first with their 7-2 records after the initial round of Pac-10 play.
