The ASU women’s basketball team is slowly creeping up the polls. After Saturday’s 60-53 victory over UA in Tucson, the Sun Devils moved up a spot to No. 24 in the Associated Press top 25.
ASU (20-6, 12-2 Pac-10) is currently riding a 12-game winning streak, a school record.
The Sun Devils’ only conference losses happened on Jan. 2 and Jan. 4 at No. 3 Stanford and No. 4 Cal, respectively.
Meanwhile, the ASU men’s basketball team stayed put at No. 14.
Its 70-68 win over UA on Sunday didn’t move the team up in the polls.
With the win, ASU (21-5, 10-4) is now a half-game behind No. 21 Washington for the conference lead. The two teams will play on Thursday in Seattle.
Just behind the Sun Devils and tied for third place are No. 22 UCLA and Cal, with their 9-5 conference records.
ASU senior forward Jeff Pendergraph still leads the nation in field-goal percentage (66.8) after his 4-for-5 outing on Sunday.
Sophomore forward Rihards Kuksiks ranks fourth nationally in 3-point percentage (47.6 percent).
