ASU police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • An unknown person or persons committed criminal damage Monday on ASU’s Tempe campus, police reported.

    The suspect or suspects cut the steel cable on the flagpole near Sun Devil Stadium and removed the flag, according to the police report.

    There are no witnesses, leads or suspects, police reported.

  • Between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, an unknown person or persons stole the vehicle of a 26-year-old male ASU student, police reported.

    The minivan was parked in Lot 2 at ASU’s West campus, according to the police report.

    There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time, police reported.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A Chandler man of an unknown age was arrested Monday on suspicion of arson and possessing narcotic drugs, police reported.

    The man was arrested on the 9900 block of South Rural Road after he was suspected of shoplifting, according to the police report.

    The suspect was searched and police found several unidentified pills and an unmarked pill bottle, police reported.

    The man admitted that the drugs were narcotics, according to the police report.

    The suspect also had an outstanding warrant for arson, police reported.

    The man was booked into Tempe City Jail and held on the arson charges, according to the police report.

  • A 23-year-old Scottsdale woman was arrested Saturday on suspicion of first-degree trespassing, police reported.

    The woman was arrested on the 1300 block of West 4th Street in Tempe, according to the police report.

    The suspect reportedly entered a home after a verbal altercation, police reported.

    Several residents in the neighborhood observed the woman entering the house and threatening several people nearby, according to the police report.

    The woman admitted to driving to the residence and stepping into the doorway of the home, police reported.

    The suspect was booked into Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to the police report.
