November 2008 was a good time to be a Jimmy Eat World fan.

Early that month, the band announced it would be doing a once-in-a-lifetime, 10-stop tour to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their 1999 release “Clarity.”

Jimmy Eat World announced that the band would play the album in its entirety at each date to commemorate their fan-favorite release.

The tour kicked off on Feb. 23 in New York to rave reviews. Music blog “So Much Silence” reviewed the show saying it was “a tour from a band that still loves playing its songs, even the old ones.”

The Boston Herald said that the Feb. 26 stop at the new Boston House of Blues “had the air of a victory lap.”

The band itself has been going all out to ensure that this tour is dedicated to and is more than satisfactory for the fans.

They created an innovative new Web site that heavily interacts with Twitter and allows fans to have real-time chats with other fans.

The band even went so far as to respond to an online petition that called for them to play the entire 16-minute final track “Goodbye Sky Harbor,” which includes an extended instrumental outro complete with guitar loops.

The Mesa natives return home to the Valley on March 7 for the conclusion of the Clarity x 10 tour at the Marquee Theatre, and one can only expect that they have a few tricks up their sleeves for their homecoming.

For support they are bringing out No Knife, the band that opened for them on the original “Clarity” release tour back in 1999.

Tickets for this show, as they have been for all of the other Clarity x 10 stops, are completely sold out.
