I was eating dinner at the House Of Tricks tonight with my dad and sister and right after I finished devouring my meal the hostess -- who is coincidentally my creative writing teacher -- sat Hugh Downs and his wife at the table right next to us.

At first I wasn't completely sure if it was him but once I heard that famous voice utter "I'll start with water, thank you," I no longer doubted myself.

As a student of the Hugh Downs Communication school I felt the need to turn around and introduce myself. After rehearsing a few polite opening lines in my head I did just that.

What a nice guy! After a few friendly handshakes were exchanged between the three of us, I dove right into dessert.
