I’m sorry, but the “Tim Tebow is a hero” campaign needs to stop.
I get it, the Florida Gator quarterback is a good dude, but am I the only one who feels like the idol worship surrounding the guy is, to put it lightly, over the top?
Tebow returned from a concussion over the weekend to lead the Gators to a hard-fought 13-3 victory over LSU, and words like “courageous” and “warrior” continued to be thrown around with painful regularity.
I am going to spiral two words of my own out there for you — “wrong move.”
Tebow shouldn’t have played 14 days after getting his brain rattled around worse than the small steel sphere in a pinball machine.
I can’t help but wonder whether Florida loves so much to add new chapters to the lore of Tim Tebow that common sense has started to go out the window.
There are more and more studies that tell of the long-term dangers of concussions, yet Urban Meyer and Florida risked the quarterback’s health so they could add to the “Tales of Tebow” chronicle (check bookstores soon). Enough.
There are almost 50,000 NCAA student athletes out there. Let’s make it a goal to start telling some of their stories, too.
