Let’s recap the weekend: Seahawk fans got Schmitt-faced, the Patriots laid a 59-0 beat down in the snow and ASU won a football game.
Everyone remembers Owen Schmitt, the over-zealous football player from Seattle who tried to crack a walnut between his face and his helmet and ended up cracking his skull open. What resulted — the fans adorning shirts that promoted their attempts to “get Schmitt- faced” — was even better.
In New England, one quarterback set records, while two quarterbacks boasted well below par performances. New England displayed a very talented secondary, and the Titans, who went 12-4 last season, finished the weekend 0-6.
Wes Welker and Randy Moss’ performances also landed my roommate his first fantasy football league win, which means seven days of bragging that will probably lead up to next weekend’s loss and the subsequent bad attitude that usually results on Sunday afternoon—thanks a lot.
But the excitement didn’t stop there — with a 50-yard pass in the last five seconds, ASU quarterback Danny Sullivan found Chris McGaha, and the Sun Devils got a much-needed win. I was impressed.
