On Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., an unknown person committed vehicle burglary at an ASU parking structure, police reported.

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 24-year-old Tempe woman was arrested Monday afternoon on the 1700 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of possession of marijuana, police reported.

She was contacted at the above location before she entered the driver’s side of her vehicle and refused to answer any questions, according to a police report.

The woman was hysterical and attempted to start the car and put it in reverse while an officer was standing in the doorway and a patrol car was parked behind her, police reported.

She then grabbed her cell phone in an attempt to make a phone call, and the officer asked her to put the cell phone down but she refused, according to a report.

When the officer reached over the woman to grab her cell phone, she reportedly began throwing her arms in the air and screaming, “You scratched me,” police reported.

When she continued to refuse to step out of the vehicle, police grabbed her arms and physically removed her, according to a report.

She then dropped to the ground and tried to pull her arms underneath her, police reported.

Once she was detained, she would not give police her name and an officer began to search through her purse for identification, according to a report.

The officer found a pill bottle without a label containing a plastic bag full of a substance believed to be marijuana, police reported.

The woman refused to speak but stated the purse did not belong to her even though her driver’s license, medical insurance cards and bank cards were all located in the purse, according to a report.

She was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of possession of marijuana, police reported.
