Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
- An 18-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday near West Eighth Avenue and South Valencia on suspicion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.The man’s friend was driving the 18-year-old’s car when Tempe Police stopped the vehicle, police reported.
The officer had the men exit the vehicle so it could be inspected by a drug-detection canine, according to the report.
After the dog inspected the vehicle, police found two small bags of marijuana on the driver’s side floor, police reported.
They also found a third bag of marijuana in a backpack, which the man said was his, according to the report.
A search also revealed a blue plastic case containing marijuana inside the vehicle’s gas tank, which the man said was not his, police reported.
The man was arrested, booked into Tempe City Jail and released pending drug charges, according to the report.
- A 59-year-old transient man was arrested Friday on the 1700 block of South Priest Drive on suspicion of third-degree burglary, according to a police report.A surveillance video showed the man entering a building on March 29 through an unlocked door and took a 12-pack of Coca-Cola, candy and V-8 drinks before leaving, according to the report.
Tempe Police investigated and arrested the man, who then told police he went through the building and took the items, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail for booking and held to see a judge, according to the report.
