ASU police look for two suspects in robbery incident

Police are looking for two African-American males who were involved in a robbery near Rural Road and Apache Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Two students were parked behind the Sonora Center dorms a little after 12 a.m. when two unidentified males knocked on both the driver- and passenger-side windows,  ASU Assistant Police Chief Jim Hardina said.

Hardina said the men took personal property from one of the students before the victims sped away toward the Whataburger on Spence Avenue and Rural Road.

As the students drove away, one of the suspected robbers shot a gun at the car through the hood causing car damage, Hardina said.

Hardina said no one was injured in the incident.

The men were seen driving toward Apache Boulevard in a grey Mazda after the shooting, Hardina said. An ASU alert was sent out following the incident. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
