The ASU winter and spring sports coaches and sports information directors met with the media to discuss their upcoming seasons at the Karsten Golf Course on Wednesday.

The prevalent news out of the conference came from Athletic Director Steve Patterson.

Packard Stadium and the status of the baseball team’s future facility was brought up after ASU and the Chicago Cubs could not agree on terms of sharing the new complex in Mesa.

Patterson said the athletic department is working attentively to find another site, in which he believes will certainly be another spring training facility. ASU currently has no leads on another facility as of Tuesday.

Patterson also said ASU plans to make a decision on the future of Sun Devil Stadium by the end of the year.

He also said they have already sent out requests for information describing details of jobs given to construction companies that may be interested, and expect to receive 100 responses from companies interested. From those, they will narrow the grouping down to approximately 15 to 20 by December.
