Sutton named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year


The Pac-12 Conference released its all conference teams Monday, and 15 Sun Devils were honored. Eleven ASU players were honorable mentions, while three players were on second team.

The lone first teamer was junior defensive tackle Will Sutton. The California native and anchor of ASU's defensive line was recognized as the Pat Tillman Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Sutton has amassed 20 tackles for loss this season.

Redshirt senior linebacker Brandon Magee, who was also named the Pac-12 defensive player of the week after his 17 tackle performance against UA, junior safety Alden Darby and senior punter Josh Hubner were all on the second team.

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Carl Bradford, redshirt senior cornerback Deveron Carr, junior tight end Chris Coyle, redshirt junior offensive lineman Evan Finkenberg, freshman running back D.J. Foster, junior running back Marion Grice, freshman defensive tackle Jaxon Hood, redshirt senior safety Keelan Johnson, redshirt sophomore quarterback Taylor Kelly, redshirt junior cornerback Osahon Irabor and senior wide receiver Rashad Ross were among the honorable mentions.
