Letter: Leaders need to attract Arizona's best students

A vibrant economy is critical to Arizona's future. This topic was addressed in Lattie Coor's "The Arizona We Want 2.0: The Case for Action" — an article that ran in The Arizona Republic on Sunday.

As a master's student at ASU, I can say with certainty that this is the central issue to students in determining where to start their career. In today's mobile world, graduates will simply move somewhere else to start their career if the conditions are less than desirable here. Our leaders need to understand this point. I hope the legislature will join with the business community to find common sense solutions to our economic problems, thereby attracting many of Arizona's best students to stay here to build their careers.
