Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 12 on suspicion of narcotics and drug paraphernalia possession at the 700 block of North Mill Avenue, according to a police report.
The man was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle that was fleeing a traffic accident at East Seventh Street and South Mill Avenue, police reported.
The man and the driver were detained in handcuffs during a traffic stop, according to the report.
While police checked the man for weapons, officers found a plastic smoking pipe and a baggie of cocaine, police reported.
The man told police he purchased the cocaine on Mill Avenue, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and released pending charges, police reported.
A 28-year-old Tempe woman was arrested Jan. 8 on East Broadway Road and South College Avenue on suspicion of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession, according to a police report.
The woman was stopped by police for having expired vehicle registration and an unreadable temporary registration tag in her car window, police reported.
When officers smelled burning marijuana in the vehicle and asked the woman if the smell was coming from her car, she said she was smoking a blunt, police reported.
Police searched the woman’s purse and found a small bag of marijuana and a marijuana cigar, according to the police report.
The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
