Tempe Police reported the following incidents on Wednesday:
A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday at South Myrtle Avenue and East Seventh Street on suspicion of aggravated assault during an incident that occurred Jan. 1, according to a police report.
Witnesses told Tempe Police that two men were arguing before they began physically fighting each other, according to the report.
One man walked toward the 500 block of South Mill Avenue to retrieve his dog and bicycle after the other man grabbed an 8-inch fixed blade from a holster on his belt, police reported.
The man with the knife followed the man to Mill Avenue where the man stabbed the victim in the armpit area, according to the report.
The victim fled to Mill Avenue and West Sixth Street, where he was found by Tempe Fire, police reported.
The victim was transported to Osborn Hospital, treated for a punctured lung, spleen, diaphragm and stomach, and is in stable condition, police reported.
After investigation, the man was located and arrested Friday, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
A 25-year-old man was arrested Jan. 2 on the 2000 block of North Scottsdale Road on suspicion of aggravated assault of a police officer and public consumption of liquor, according to a police report.
A Circle K convenience store clerk told Tempe Police officers he saw the man selling cigarettes and acting abnormal, according to the report.
When the officers arrived, they saw the man drinking a 40-ounce bottle of Steel Reserve, police reported.
When the officers approached the man, he threw himself to the ground and yelled profanity at the officers, according to the report.
Police attempted to force the man to sit up but were unable to control him, according to the report.
Officers tried several times to detain the man by rolling him on his stomach; however, the man would not follow demands, police reported.
The man then wrapped his arm around an officer's leg, and the officer broke the man's hold, according to the report.
When the man again held the officer's leg, another officer struck the man, and he let go of his hold, police reported.
Later, the man was transported, booked into Tempe City and held to see a judge, according to the report.
