The 942 Crew: a new ASU tradition

After a disappointing 10-21 record at the end of the 2010-2011 season, Coach Sendek got to work to rebuild the Sun Devil Basketball Program. One of the changes he implemented was a greater level of student involvement, and the 942 (pronounced nine forty-two) club was born. Named after the number of seats within the student section at Wells Fargo arena, the goal of the 942 club is to fill every single one of those 942 student seats, every single home game.

Led by Associate A.D. Bill Kennedy and well-recognized super fan Nate McWhortor, the 942 club has seen steadily rising student fan numbers throughout the 2012-2013 season, especially against Pac-12 rivals Colorado and Arizona. With the Sun Devils currently enjoying a 14-4 record, and 11-2 at home, the new atmosphere in Wells Fargo Arena seems to certainly be contributing to the team's newfound success.
