Man arrested for smoking marijuana outside of Starbucks


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:

 

A 43-year-old Gilbert man was arrested Thursday at the 400 block of East Mill Avenue on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to a police report.

Downtown Tempe security patrol saw the man smoking a marijuana cigarette on the Starbucks patio, police reported.

Police arrived and spoke with the man who said a stranger gave him the marijuana, according to police.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail for booking, police reported.

 

A 23-year-old man was arrested Sunday on East Seventh Street and South Mill Avenue on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to a police report.

Police stopped the man for driving a vehicle with no headlights on and playing loud music, police reported.

Police found a large green bottle, commonly used to store marijuana, on the floorboard of the vehicle, according to police.

The bottle contained marijuana, police reported.

Police also found several capsules containing unknown white powder in the bottle, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and later released pending drug charges, police reported.
