Abbot and Costello were funny. Brandon McCarthy’s Twitter page is funny. Tim McCarver’s broadcasts are funny.

There are some seriously funny things about baseball out there, but the best comedy in the game comes from Marlins Park in Miami.

After selling off Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes and just about everyone making more than Florida state minimum wage, the Miami Marlins opening day lineup had Placido Polanco batting cleanup.

At least the Houston Astros went full-blown fire sale and sold off anyone that’s half-way decent (see: Jed Lowrie).

Miami is one week in and already the worst team in baseball (1-6).

Why don’t the Marlins just admit they couldn’t beat a little league team and trade their only bright spot, Giancarlo Stanton? They’re awful, and he’s fantastic.

It won’t work, Miami. He’s just not that into you.

Stanton getting out of Miami is like Gilligan trying to get off the island. You know he can’t, but we still watch, because it’s funny.

Actually, that show lasted three seasons. Stanton is entering his third full season. Will he finally escape Miami?

Stay tuned for Marlins baseball, live on Comedy Central. Excuse me, FOX Sports Florida.
