The Calle 16 Mural Project is based on the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Between Sept. 30 and Oct. 3, students at ASU West campus worked to paint a mural with the help of local artist Hugo Medina. Medina said doing this project helps students interact with their community. Any ASU student can pick up a brush and participate in the project. Once the mural was painted, it was moved to the Delph Courtyard for the Fiesta del Oeste, with food as well as entertainment by flamenco and mariachi performers.
