Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:

  • A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested Dec. 27 on South Smith Road and East Howe Avenue on suspicion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.Police contacted the man after he failed to stop at a stop sign and began driving against the flow of traffic on Smith Road, the report said.

    After the man stopped the car, an officer asked him if he could search him for weapons and he agreed, according to the report.

    Police found a pipe in his right front jacket pocket and another pipe in his right pants pocket. The man said he used one to smoke marijuana and the other to smoke methamphetamine, police said.

    The officer also found a small baggy with green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in his wallet pocket, according to the report.

    The man told police the marijuana was his and that he had smoked hours before, police said.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
