Tempe Police reported the following incident Friday:
- A 21-year-old Maricopa man was arrested Feb. 1 on West Third Street and South Mill Avenue on suspicion of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and narcotic drugs possession, according to a police report.
Police said they saw the man while they were doing a security check of the parking lot area at Third Street and Mill Avenue.
The man was seen in a 2006 Honda Civic with his head bent forward holding an item near his nose, according to the report.
When they contacted the man, he was seen tossing the item across the front of the vehicle toward the driver’s seat, police said.
The item was located and was identified as a small plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance and a $20 bill rolled up and fashioned as a straw, according to the report.
Police said the man admitted that the substance was cocaine and that he was getting ready to “snort a blow.”
The back seat passenger on the right side had a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance recognized by sight and smell as marijuana, and a small blue zipper case with a glass pipe and burnt marijuana residue, according to the report.
Both men were booked, according to the report.
