State Press alumni remember print: Stephanie Conner

Read more alumni memories.

Waiting for the 2000 election results so we could put the paper to bed was torture. I’m not sure if it was because of the stress of the print deadline or the 1 a.m. last call for a celebratory beer that I was more worried about. But let’s go with the print deadline. Either way, it was a rush. We were up against the same constraints as every other newspaper in the country. And that’s part of why the State Press was such good training. It’s also where I met some of my best friends. Working for the State Press was — and likely will forever be — the best job I’ve ever had.
