The Sun Devils face both Colorado and Utah on the road this weekend after losing their past two games at home the previous weekend.

“This was our first two-game weekend in a while,” junior midfielder Tommi Goodman said. “If we keep taking care of our bodies and really work together at practice then we will able to go out and do work.”

The Sun Devils (9-4-4, 2-3-3) had a tough weekend falling to both California and No. 4 ranked Stanford. Both losses resulted from miscommunication on defense, something that head coach Kevin Boyd has made a point of emphasizing this season.

“I think we had our moments,” Goodman said. “I think that it wasn't the best we've played so far, we have a lot more in us, and I think if we are able to bring that out for our next three Pac–12 games we can do well.”

Boyd said he is happy with the way junior forward Cali Farquharson (12 goals) has been able to score this season, but recognizes that the team is relying on her very often, putting a strain on her.

“I think we are leaning on her heavily right now, and if we can find chances to rest her, we are going to do that, because we are going to need her in the next couple of games.” Boyd said.

Colorado (10-6-1, 3-4-1) is another team coming off of a less than satisfactory weekend, with a loss against Washington State, and a scoreless tie in double overtime against Washington.

Colorado’s top scorer is sophomore forward Brie Hooks, who has six goals on the season. The second top scorer on the team is junior midfielder Kahlia Hogg, with four. Colorado has also scored only 24 goals this season.

The Sun Devils will then travel to Salt Lake City to play Utah on its home field.

Utah (8-5-4, 1-5-2) is also coming off a losing weekend, losing against both Washington teams. Utah will be relying on its experience, as it has a total of eight seniors on the team, among many other redshirt players.

Utah does not have the most potent offense, only scoring a total of 24 goals on the season, which could explain its losing conference record. ASU has managed to score 33. Senior midfielder Katie Taylor is Utah's top scorer, with four goals on the season.

The Sun Devils play Colorado at 2 p.m. Friday in Boulder.
