Tempe Police: Man hit in the face with rock after original target ducks

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 44-year-old Tempe man was arrested Feb. 3 on the 900 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of aggravated assault, according to a police report.

The man had assaulted another man the night before by hitting him on the side of the face with a rock, police reported.

That man was left bleeding before the Tempe Fire Department transported him to Scottsdale Osborne Hospital, where a CAT scan discovered multiple facial fractures and a two-centimeter laceration, according to the report.

A woman said the man had aimed the rock at her, but it hit the other man when she ducked, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested Feb 1. on the 500 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card, according to a police report.

The man had ran up a $406.46 bar tab at the Gringo Star and offered management a fake California driver's license, police reported.

After both credit cards declined, the man said he had received both cards from “someone in Mexico,” but did not identify the person’s name, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
