Tempe Police: Woman stopped for driving poorly, found drunk with child in car

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 40-year-old Chandler woman was arrested Feb. 3 at South Apache Drive and West Frye Road on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence with a passenger younger than 15, according to a police report.

Police had originally pulled over the woman after she committed several traffic violations, police reported.

Officers said the woman had bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol on her breath, according to the report.

Officers also found the woman’s son in the backseat of the car, police reported.

The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

A 26-year-old man was arrested Feb. 4 at the 6600 block of West Glendale Avenue on suspicion of third degree burglary, according to the police report.

Police arrived at an apartment complex because a burglary alarm was going off after someone entered the building unlawfully, police reported.

The man and a second person ran away once officers arrived, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was arrested and held to see a judge, according to the police report.
