Tempe Police: Man breathes fire on Mill Avenue

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:

A Kansas man was arrested Feb. 22 on the 600 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of prescription drugs and marijuana possession and disorderly conduct, according to a police report.

The man was standing on Mill Avenue and putting lighter fluid in his mouth, sparking his lighter and breathing onto the fire, police reported.

When officers approached the man, he immediately stopped the fire breathing and calmly talked to the officers, according to the report.

Officers searched the man and found a glass pipe, Cephalexin, Gabapentin, Sulfameth/Trimethoprim and a pill container containing marijuana, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

 

A 33-year-old Queen Creek man was arrested Feb. 17 on the 2200 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

The man was leaving a Motel 6 when police pulled him over for a traffic violation. When the man exited the car, the police told the suspect that he would be searched, police reported.

The man turned out with right pocket without hesitation, but when he reached into his second pocket, his kept his hand in it for awhile and was fidgeting, according to the report.

When the officer told the man to turn out his left pocket, the man quickly threw a small bag with a rock-like substance on the ground next to him, police reported

The man was transported to Tempe Police, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
