Tempe Police are investigating a situation that left one officer and two other people injured Tuesday afternoon, police officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Weber Drive with reports of a domestic dispute around 12:30 p.m., Tempe Police spokeswoman Molly Enright said in an email.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard screams from inside the building and attempted to help, Enright said.

When the officer entered the building, he was attacked by a man with a knife.  There was then an officer involved shooting, and two people were injured, Enright said.

The officers and others injured in the incident were transported to local hospitals, Enright said.
