While the rest of the ASU track and field team stays back in Tempe, the distance runners will be traveling to the Golden State for the Mt. SAC Relays. Hosted by Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, the distance team will be running at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Thursday and Friday.

Only a limited number of the distance athletes will be competing, but redshirt sophomore CJ Albertson will begin things Thursday at 6:11 p.m. (all times PT) in the B-section of the men’s 3,000 meter steeplechase. This will be his second time ever competing in this event.

Up next will be senior Shaina Corbin in the open section of the women’s 3,000 steeplechase at 6:35 p.m. Corbin ran her personal best in this event back on March 28 at the Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Invitational. She will look to best that time of 10:43.20 on Thursday night.

In the final steeplechase race of the night, redshirt junior Daniel Wong and freshman J.P. Nelson will be running in the A-section of the men’s 3,000 steeplechase at 7:01 p.m. Nelson will be running in his first event as a Sun Devil.

In the last event of Thursday for ASU, redshirt junior Jeff Bickert will be competing in the men’s 10,000 race at 10:44 p.m.

The meet continues on Friday night with redshirt junior Ryan Herson in the invitational section of the men’s 5000 at 8:35 p.m. Herson owns the fourth fastest time in school history, a mark he set in last year’s outdoor season.

Much later in the evening, at 9:53 p.m., Albertson will be back to run the open section of the men’s 5,000.

The women’s 5,000 races are the last two events of the meet for ASU. Sophomore Jenna Maack is set to start in the women’s 5,000 B open section at 10:24 p.m. Maack ran in her first event as a Sun Devil earlier this year in the women’s 5,000 at Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Invitational. She ran a time of 18:09.94 and finished in tenth place.

The final event is the C open section in the women’s 5000 race, which sophomore Chelsey Totten will be competing in at 11:09 p.m.

The event will be available through live stream from FloTrack.com with a subscription. For people who are not members, results will be available live via Flash Results West.
