Suspended ASU football player Davon Durant appeared in front of a judge on Tuesday at Maricopa County Superior Court for his motions hearing.

The meeting took about three and a half minutes. During the time, Judge Richard Nothwehr denied a previously petitioned call for withdrawal.

Durant’s attorney did not elaborate in an interview after the conference.

Nothwehr also set new dates for upcoming hearings in the trial.

May 5: Discovery hearing. Durant’s attendance is not mandatory.

May 21: Comprehensive pre-trial. Attendance mandatory.

Aug. 13: Final trial management conference. Attendance mandatory.

Aug. 20: Final trial conference. Attendance mandatory.

Durant was arrested on March 6 on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend, Kelsi Langley. Durant is being charged on three counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and one count of felony aggravated assault.

Langley initially told police that Durant had hit and chocked her, but she recanted her statement shortly after. Since then, she spoke at a press conference and called for Durant’s innocence.
