Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

A 27-year-old Tempe man was arrested April 3 on the 5000 block of Wild Horse Pass Boulevard on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, armed robbery and credit card fraud, according to a police report.

The man and his two friends pointed a gun at a woman while taking her purse, which contained the woman’s wallet and bank cards, police reported.

The man’s friend had approached the lady from behind and attempted to take her purse when the man pulled up with a grey SUV and had his other friend point a gun at the woman’s face, yelling, “Give me your f-----g purse,” according to the report.

The woman complied and dropped her purse and phone as she ran away from the scene, police reported.

Officers tracked the woman’s phone, which they located at a Big Surf where it had been discarded, and inspected it for latent fingerprints, according to the report.

The woman’s card had been used at Tempe’s Sky High Smoke Shop and a Circle K, where officers later found video surveillance of the man and his group, police reported.

Video surveillance helped police to identify the man and arrest him and his girlfriend at their home, according to the report.

The man was booked and held in custody at Tempe City Jail, police reported.

An 18-year-old Tempe man was arrested April 3 on the 1800 block of East Hayden Lane on suspicion of aggravated assault and temporary disfigurement and victim restraint, according to a police report.

Officers arrested the man after he had assaulted another man, making the man unconscious and causing a severe laceration to the man’s ear that later required plastic surgery, police reported.

While the man had been in a fight with his girlfriend, the other man had verbally intervened, according to the report.

The man then angrily tackled the man and hit his head on the ground and got up, later denying any other strikes or hits except possibly “stepping on the victim while getting up,” police reported.

The other man entered the ICU for immediate treatment, where investigation revealed that he had not fought back, according to the report.

Police discovered the man sitting in his car four hours later, police reported.

The man was booked and held at Tempe City Jail, according to the report.
