ASU baseball's Jordan Aboites sends message to fans through Tumblr post

Last season was not the year ASU baseball had in mind, but Jordan Aboites is looking ahead to 2016.

After a disappointing 2015 season where ASU baseball was eliminated in the Fullerton Regional, ASU baseball senior infielder/right-handed pitcher Jordan Aboites wrote a message to fans through Tumblr promising more hard work and dedication to ensure a better finish in 2016.

Aboites started the message by acknowledging his summer playing with the Anchorage Glacier Pilots and how it has not only improved his individual game on the diamond, but has made him truly appreciate his ASU teammates—his "brothers."

In paragraph two of the three-paragraph message, he reflected on the team's high hopes in 2015 and how they were not met.

"We were certain that we would bring back a championship to Tempe and that nobody was going to stand in our way," Aboites said on Tumblr.

After reflecting on the bittersweet taste last season left, he looked forward to the 2016 season in the final paragraph. He said the team is heading into the school year accepting the fact that the same sleepless nights will be there, their bodies will ache and they may doubt themselves.

Aboites said the team is working towards a goal that is bigger than any one on the team, one that is not temporary but will leave a lasting legacy on ASU baseball.

"We will dedicate each and every day to improving our game so that we bring a championship back to Sun Devil Nation, because anything less is unacceptable,"Aboites said in the last line of his message.

Aboites hit .200 with a home run and eight RBI in 37 games (22 starts) last season while going 3-3 with a 5.81 ERA in 18 appearances (two starts) on the mound.
