Former North Dakota forward Wade Murphy announced on Twitter Monday that he will be transferring and continuing his hockey career with ASU hockey.

The Grand Forks Herald first reported on June 27 that Murphy was looking to transfer.

The 21-year-old wing is a former seventh round pick of the Nashville Predators in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, and his career stats are as follows:

The 5-foot-11, 174-pound forward out of Victoria, BC, Canada notched just an assist and six penalty minutes in 16 games last season.

The 2015-16 season will be ASU's first at the Division I level, in which they will play a hybrid ACHA/NCAA schedule before gaining full conference affiliation in 2016-17.
