Tempe Police: Man squeezes woman's breast in front of crowd

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 22-year-old Laveen man was arrested June 20 on the 500 block of Mill Avenue on suspicion of sexual abuse, according to a police report.

The man walked up to a woman on the sidewalk and, with his palm facing up, grabbed her breast and squeezed it, police reported.

The woman had never met or had any contact with the man prior to the incident, police reported.

When he grabbed her breast, she pushed the man away from her, according to the report.

The man was contacted and arrested in front of Cue Club, police reported.

There were multiple witnesses to the incident, including a bouncer at World of Beer, according to the report. The three separate witnesses and the victim all positively identified him as the perpetrator, police reported.

In a post-Miranda interview the man said “I don’t go around grabbing girl’s boobs,” according to the report.

Before he denied the allegation, however, there had been no mention of him “grabbing a girls boob”, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.


A 28-year-old Gilbert man was arrested June 17 on the intersection of East Don Carlos Avenue and South Bonnie Lane on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, ignition interlock violation, delaying and obstructing a police investigation and the possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

The man was originally stopped for a civil traffic violation, police reported.

When contacted the man said he didn’t have his license, but gave his first name and tied the officer the vehicle was registered to him and his mother, police reported.

The officer asked the man to step out of the car and he fled from the traffic stop and from police, according to the report.

He wasn’t found in the initial investigation however, police received a call informing them of someone matching his description got picked up in a Hyundai in their area, police reported.

The officers managed to get in contact with the man’s girlfriend through the information the witness provided and he was placed under arrest when he returned to his girlfriend’s apartment. according to the report.


In an investigation it was revealed that the man had with him a pipe often used to smoke methamphetamine, the man’s license was suspended and he was required to use an ignition interlock device which he did not have, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
