ASU student injured in fall from University Towers balcony

An male ASU student has been hospitalized after falling from a University Towers balcony, according to University officials.

ASU Police Department responded to a call Tuesday morning at approximately 4:50 a.m. to a report that a student fell from a sixth floor balcony at University Towers, according to a statement from ASU.

The student was awake and responsive, but he had a forehead laceration, bruised ribs and an injured shoulder.

An eyewitness told officers that the student had been locked out of his room and was attempting to climb from one balcony to another, according to the statement. 

The student was transported to Scottsdale Osborne Medical Center for further evaluation.
