Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A Tucson man was arrested April 7 on the 990 block of East Baseline Road on suspicion of liquor possession and an aggravated DUI, according to a police report.

Officers stopped the man in his car because his license plate matched the description of a car involved in a previous aggravated assault, police reported.

The man exited his car and reached for his waistband, yelling “shoot me,” according to the report.

When the man did not listen to police commands, officers tased him multiple times, police reported.

During a search, officers noticed that the man smelled like alcohol, and that he had open containers of alcohol inside his vehicle, according to the report.

The containers were two 25-ounce Bud Light Platinums and a bottle of Hennessy, police reported.

Officers also found two packages of Spice, a synthetic marijuana, inside the car’s center console, according to the report.

The man is also on parole for a second degree murder charge, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.

A Phoenix man was arrested April 7 on the 2300 block of East Riviera Drive on suspicion of narcotic drug and paraphernalia use as well as an existing warrant, according to a police report.

Officers approached the man as he was actively injecting heroin into his arm, police reported.

The man told police that the substance in the needle was heroin and that it was his own, according to the report.

During a search, officers also found a box containing items used to cook and ingest heroin, police reported.

These items included small cotton balls, needles, a belt, a burnt spoon with dirty cotton pieces, according to the report.

A records check also revealed that the man had an existing warrant, police reported.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
