The Tempe Undergraduate Student Government released a statement Tuesday evening calling for the student body to rise above the drama and negativity of the recent executive and senatorial elections and to recognize the impact of student government on campus.

"With the  run-off elections approaching, let's redirect our focus on the visions of each platform and understand that the political circus that has ensued overshadows the immense impact Undergraduate Student Government has on this campus," the statement reads. "We have the power to make real change to better the experiences of all Sun Devils."

The statement directs students to look on the bright side — for example, this year, voter turnout was nearly twice what it was last year.

It instructs students who want to "repair" the elections system to come to the USG Tempe offices attend this year's final senate meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:30 in MU 22.
