From June 9 through June 11, the 40-round MLB 2016 draft chose five Sun Devils.

ASU juniors Colby Woodmansee and Brian Serven were both taken in the fifth round of the draft: Woodmansee by the Colorado Rockies at pick 140 and Serven was taken by the Mets 20 picks later.

Junior Hever Bueno was taken in round nine by the Texas Rangers, and junior David Greer was taken by the Seattle Mariners.

The final Sun Devil taken in this draft was junior Seth Martinez, who was taken in round 17 by the Oakland Athletics.

These five Sun Devils give head coach Tracy Smith 55 players that have been drafted under his guidance, and 14 that have been drafted the last two seasons.

Overall, there have been 414 Sun Devils who have had their names called in the MLB draft, and there has been at least one Sun Devil taken in the draft since it's inception in 1965.
