The No. 4 ASU women’s golf team finished first in the Windy City Collegiate Classic in Highland Park, Illinois on Tuesday with a one-over par on the scorecard over the three rounds.

The Sun Devils finished the tournament shooting 853 (+1) as a team.

"We are really excited about winning Windy City hosted by Northwestern," head coach Missy Farr-Kaye said. "It is a great tournament on a really good golf course with a good field."

In the team's second tournament of the fall season, junior Linnea Strom had her ninth top-three finish of her ASU career.

Strom shot -5 (208) overall, finishing second behind Oklahoma State senior Maddie McCrary who finished -6 (207) overall.

Farr-Kaye said Strom played very well and even though she came up short of a win, the team played beautifully.

"This was a complete team effort by all five players and I am very proud of how each of them competed today," Farr-Kaye said.

The Sun Devils competed all three days with the Oklahoma State Cowboys and went neck and neck in Tuesday's rounds.

All five of the Sun Devils finished in the top half of the leaderboard. Sophomore Olivia Mehaffey finished sixth (-1), senior Roberta Liti finished tied for 12th (+3), freshman Raquel Olmos Ros finished tied for 24th (+7) and junior Madison Kerley finished tied for 32nd (+9).

The Sun Devils will have a week off before their next tournament at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational hosted by the University of Texas in Austin, Texas on Oct. 9-10.
