I'm touching the surface of a topic I am new with and am promoting an idea that I recently just adopted myself: believing in something larger than yourself. A week ago, the idea of believing in a truth larger than myself was something that I couldn't wrap my mind around.

In middle school, my English teacher assigned us a project that visually represented a scene from Mark Twain's 1876 novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Out of the desire to have the most interactive piece, our group chose to create a diorama of the scene.

Most of us spend our pre-college lives dreaming about the day when we leave for college and start what is said to be, "the time of our lives". We enter college with high expectations of what the future holds, with the prospect of redefining who we are and a yearning for much needed independence.
